Icelandic Sheep for Sale, 2008

This year's lambs playing on an old trailer. The lambs have taken to sunning themselves on the bed.. or sleeping under it if it rains!

We had ewes this season, a gracious plenty of ewes: 6 ewe lambs to 2 rams. Very unusual. We bred this year for wool and a solid conformation, using our ram we achieved by crossing Frelsi Farm's Kiva Han with Frelsi Farm's Bunnah. He is a mountain of fleece, has a wonderful conformation, and a placid temperament.. which we consider essential in a small farm's ram.

We are happy to work with new farms to package a small flock to get you started. Our site has several articles to point you in the right direction as far as fencing and other information goes, but there is nothing like a hands on experience, so contact us if you'd like to visit the farm and get a feel for handling the sheep.

We take a $100 deposit to hold a lamb for you and can work with you on transporting the sheep to you. Give us a call at 802.253.2585 and we'll make the necessary arrangements. There is a fuel surcharge for transport... but you knew that already! We offer a 10% discount on two lambs, 15% on three.

This incredibly cute little butt belongs to Poof's ewe lamb. She is a white, probably carrying moorit, solid, and black, perhaps carrying spotting. She should have a lovely "antique white" fleece, and as a single lamb is being spoiled rotten by a very protective mother.

$280

Zzzzz... snoozing in the sun are Guiness's (2,2,2,1,2) twins, a solid moorit ram and a white ewe both polled. Guiness is a solid black ewe carrying moorit with funny horns and a peculiar fleece who consistently throws the most amazing, perfect, lambs... polled if she is bred to a polled ram, horned if she is bred to a horned. Without help... and in secret. She is completely unflapable. This year we finally caught her in labor and got to see the lambs being born!

solid morrit ram (Hershey): $250

White ewe twin of the ram above, she probably carries solid and moorit, giving her this lovely antique white fleece. But her tail really is cute!

$300

Spotted black ram lamb "Rambeau" is a product of "Feather" last year's bottle lamb, and our spotted black ram "Jack."

SOLD

Bunnah's (1, 2, 2, 2, 2) twin ewes are the result of deliberate line breeding. We are keeping one twin, offering the other for sale. These girls will have beautiful fleeces and nice strong conformations. Like their dam and sire, rock solid breeding stock.

Twin 1: NFS

Bunnah's twin 2: $350

Carrying white, possibly solid, likely moorit, black, and spotting.

PT's ewe lamb, solid spotted black.. named Dandelion by the kids next door.. will be staying with us.

Her twin is available for sale: she is a white ewe carrying solid and black, possibly morrit, possibly spotting.. actually, pretty likely she got spotting, since her sister is spotted.

$300

Just for fun: images from the first part of the season, back in April!

The twins, 6 hours old!

Born Sunday, April 6th. Twin ewe lambs from Bunnah... you have to play this with sound, half the humor is my USMC husband talking to the sheep!
